Hull no. 300 of these versatile cruising yachts. This Impression 434 was built in 2009, but not launched until 2010, and is currently in her second ownership. She is in wonderful condition above and below decks. The class came in multiple layout options and BEAR NECESSITY boasts one of the best - with the owner’s cabin up forward and twin aft cabins. The owner’s cabin also has a separate en-suite heads and shower compartments which is a rather sought after feature. She has been regularly updated and well maintained and boasts many lovely features.

Owners Comments

Constructed late 2009, commissioned 2010, for her first three years Bear Necessity was used solely as a demonstrator by the dealer in Scotland. The first owner then spent a considerable amount on upgrading electronics in preparation for a cruise to the Mediterranean.  His plans changed which gave us the opportunity to purchase her, she presented then as she does now as a yacht in exceptional condition by virtue of such light use in her early life.


In our ownership we have enjoyed cruising the Scottish West coast before heading down the Irish Sea. We spent most of the summer of 2020 cruising the West Country and South Coast.  Throughout, we have enjoyed her easily accessible pace, fabulously comfortable cockpit and well appointed, spacious below deck accommodation.  The forward owners stateroom with en-suite heads and separate shower is positively commodious and the two spacious aft cabins (one with its own en-suite) very comfortable for guests, with the versatile option of using one for additional stowage for cruising essentials:  two bikes with trailer, all the sailing kit for Tinker inflatable, SUP, etc.  Although fast under sail (thank you Rob Humphreys!), she is also very steady and stable so has inspired confidence in more challenging conditions and is also very easy to sail singlehanded. 


She has been a great platform for us to enjoy cruising as a couple and with friends and family. We have enjoyed our time with her so much that she has whetted our appetite to sail further and for longer, so she now needs a new owner while we move onto a larger live aboard yacht.
