The Ocqueteau 660 Pilothouse shares the same Norwegian-designed hull as the other 6.6m hulls in the range, which are proper little workboats designed to be out in all weathers. The hull build and layup is very substantial, and the hull offers a true "deep vee" hull for seakeeping which is considered to be the best in her class.
For pure fishing the Ocqueteau 660 Pilothouse has been designed to meet two objectives. To get to a given place safely, and to accommodate comfortably a reasonably sized fishing group. The Ocqueteau 660 Pilothouse comes with an outside steering option allowing the helm to be at close quarters in the cockpit with friends and fishing tackle.
The ‘V’-shaped hull of the Ocqueteau 660 Pilothouse works particularly well at sea and gives an exceptionally stable and dry ride at speed even in difficult conditions. The Ocqueteau 660 Pilothouse is the only one in its range to be approved Category B (RCD). The boat can reach speeds of 35 knots with a 150 HP engine.
The Ocqueteau 660 Pilothouse is perfect for fishing trips with friends. The movement around the cabin is easy and safe with its high boards and numerous handrails and grab handles. There is ample storage space with special storage tunnels for the rods, bait and other fishing equipment.
The Ocqueteau 660 Pilothouse offers an amazing amount of space for a hull which measures less than 22 feet, both inside and out. The cabin features a generous forward double berth, with an optional sea toilet mounted underneath, and the option of a galley in the wheelhouse.
The wheelhouse is bright and airy, and the helm position provides great visibility all round, with plenty of space to fit additional instruments. The helm seat features a lifting squab enabling the helmsman to sit comfortably, but also to stand and lean back comfortably, and the co-pilot seat provides good visibility for the crew. A bench seat to port also seats another two crew.
In the wheelhouse of the Ocqueteau 660 Pilothouse is a compact galley, with standard sink with running water, and the option of a cooker and 12v fridge.
The cockpit comes as standard with aft bench seats either side of the engine, plus there is the option to add the trademark Ocqueteau folding side benches offering versatile additional seating, plus the option of a cockpit table for al fresco dining.
Of course, for fishing the cockpit offers plenty of working space for four anglers with standard rod holders ample stowage below decks, and a secure high cockpit coaming to give a real feel of security when working on deck.
In the cockpit is also the Ocqueteau unique option of an external helm position, which not only gives fair weather wind-in-the-hair steering, but also makes mooring very easy due to the superb visibility aft and the ease of leaning over the side to secure mooring lines.
All in all, the Ocqueteau 660 Pilothouse is the perfect pocket fisher, fitting the needs of anglers, commercial fishermen and potters, day trippers, and pretty much anyone. She is small enough for trailing and economical moorings, but large enough for most requiremnets, and provides proper "big boat" feel within her compact dimensions.
